The Thoth Engine is a mechanism for playing board games by electronic mail (PBEM) and by direct Internet play.  The system allows a user to graphically design the various parts of a board game on his computer.  Then players can make moves and exchange recorded versions of the moves with their opponents.  Thoth is not an artificial opponent; it provides no artificial intelligence capability.  Thoth Game Modules contain two separate parts: Graphics and Game.  The Graphics part contains images of the game board and pieces.  The Game part contains the actual game files that define the game.
