Pictured above is Jose Raul Capablanca. Grandmaster Capablanca (on the right) is playing Camelot with expert player Miss Anne Morgan, in celebration of the opening of the championship of the American Women's Association Camelot Club located in Manhattan, New York.  This first Camelot tournament to be held in Manhattan took place at the association's clubhouse during January of 1932.  Grandmaster Capablanca acted as the referee of the tournament, which was won by Miss Elizabeth Wray.  This photograph is from the Cuban publication, Diario de la Marina, of March 10, 1942, and is used with the gracious permission, and from the personal collection, of Edward Winter, noted author and chess historian.  You can find out more about Mr. Winter's column, Chess Notes, here.
