Pictured
below is the world's first successful stand-alone Camelot
PC program, and the winner of the 2008 WCF Camelot Computer World Championship. The program, created by Rick Fadden, is called CHAXX. The
program's current version, Chaxx 1.19, although still grappling with the
challenges of
endgame technique, is already strong enough to
over-match most
human players in the opening and the middlegame. Current work on the program includes a GUI interface, an opening
book, a precise determination of Knight/Man ratios, and endgame strategies.
